Academy Title:Kinesiology Tape Evidence-Based Practice
While commonly used, the effectiveness of Kinesiology Tape remains questioned. Despite several reviews and studies suggesting that Kinesiology Tape has no benefit, there are several high level (
Level 2) studies that support the clinical use of Kinesiology Tape.
We continue to support Evidence-Based Practice by providing references of adequate, well-controlled studies with statistically significant outcomes. You can find links to the full articles as well as the clinical techniques used here:
- Supports Joints: improves range of motion, joint position, or joint mobility
- Supports Muscle: improves muscle strength or endurance, muscle power, EMG activation, flexibility, or trigger points
- Reduces Pain: improves pain perception
