Does kinesiotaping increase knee muscles strength and functional performance?

Instructions:

In the supine position, taping was first applied to the quadriceps. The base of the tape was applied to the anterior inferior il- iac spine. While stabilizing the base, KT was peeled from the paper to the base of ‘Y’ tails and placed on the skin. The subjects were then instructed to maximally flex both hip and knee while the ‘Y’ tails were applied medial and lateral border of patella (a). Other part of taping included patellar mechanical correction. Tape shape was ‘Y’ strip, similar to quadriceps muscle technique. After stabilizing the base of tape on the lateral border of patella, 50–75% tension was applied downward and inward to the superior and inferior bor- der of patella (b).
