Dr Shabnam Agarwal (PhD) is a specialist musculo-skeletal physiotherapist, practicing in one of Kolkata’s leading private hospitals since the past 16 years.  She received her master’s degree in Orthopedic physiotherapy from University of Wales, College of Medicine Cardiff.  Her PhD from Curtin University, Perth, investigated outcomes of treatment in cervical radiculopathy and thus her continued clinical research interests include spine treatment and rehabilitation.  She uses modern concepts of exercise therapy in her clinical practice.

Dr Shabnam lectures and conducts workshops on Cervical Spine and Upper Quadrant muscular dysfunction and rehabilitation.  Assessment techniques combine basic principles of anatomy and biomechanics with advanced level knowledge of neurophysiological and musculoskeletal control.  Multi-approach techniques for intervention are essentially based on low threshold muscle recruitment and motor control inefficiency.  Both are causative and/or result in faulty static and dynamic postures and movement patterns.  

Further, as a speaker of the Theraband academy at the black level, she conducts workshops on basic and advanced uses of bands and balls to clinicians as well as PG students.
