This 2 ½ day workshop is the next level in our training program. You will experience one hands-on session is a long term care facility and one session in an Alzheimer’s unit working directly with resident volunteers. Pre-requisite: Must have attended a Level 1 Geriatric Massage workshop within the last 2 years. The workshop features these topics: 1. In depth and up to date information on the most common age-related health problems and how to work specifically with each as well as cautions and contraindications. 2. Cautions in positions of challenged clients in hospital beds, standard beds, wheelchairs and geriatric chairs. 3. Specific approaches to massaging people challenged with Parkinson’s, diabetes, stroke and dementia/Alzheimer and those who may be wheelchair or bed bound.
