Bio:
Joanne Bullock-Saxton, PT, PhD., is both a clinical and research physical therapist in the area of musculoskeletal physical therapy. She graduated from her initial PT degree in 1984, traveled extensively and worked in both hospital and private practice before embarking on a research PhD studying the influence of peripheral injury on proximal muscle function. Following completion of her PhD in 1992, she was a senior academic at the University of Queensland for a decade, during which time she developed a research team to continue to investigate muscle responses to injury, disease and rehabilitation approaches. She is currently the senior physiotherapist in the neurosciences ward of a large private hospital, director of a private practice specializing in musculoskeletal medicine and Senior Lecturer at the Australian Catholic University Brisbane.  She has presented many conference papers at international level and offered many local, national and international workshops on the area of muscle function, rehabilitation and exercise prescription. Joanne was invited onto the Theraband Academy in 2001 at the recommendation of her mentor, the late Professor Vladimir Janda with whom she was a research and clinical collaborator for 20 years.
