Effect of Elastic Taping on Postural Control Deficits in Subjects With Healthy Ankles, Copers, and Individuals With Functional Ankle Instability

Instructions:

The foot was placed in a comfortable resting position in slight plantar flexion, and tape adherent spray was used. First, a strip was placed over the anterior midfoot and stretched to approximately 115% to 120% of its resting length ending just below the tibial tuberosity on the shin (Figure a). The second strip originated just above the medial malleolus and stretched under the foot, ending just lateral to the end of the first strip at a point near the fibular head (Figure b). The final strip was stretched across the anterior aspect of the ankle from the medial to the lateral malleolus (Figure c).
