Roller Massager+ Elongated Calf Release

Self-release of the gastroc muscle; elongated position

Roller Massager+ Elongated Calf Release
Instructions:
Stand facing a ledge or step, with heel (of leg with calf to be rolled) propped up in front of body. Stance leg is slightly bent and propped knee faces directly toward the ceiling with toes flexed toward nose. Grasp both ends of the Thera-Band Roller Massager+ so that ridged roller is positioned across the calf. Gently roll the Massager+ up and down along the path of the gastrocnemius muscle, bending from the hips with chest lifted so as not to stress the low back. In general, longer strokes in this elongated position will work more superficial layers of the tissue. To further elongate muscles, prop foot on higher ledge and/or bend stance leg deeper.

NOTE: See “Roller Massager+ Shortened Calf Release” and “Roller Massager+ Neutral Calf Release” for positional variations.
